What's the latest brute-force method

I've been trying to brute-force a social media account but each attempt on my password list is passed, meanwhile it's not correct. Even though I have incremented the interval for each attempt this keeps happening. I don't know if the site has a feature that link each attempt to my IP. I don't know. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Tool recommendation will also be appreciated
